Today in addition to the emissions test earlier today, we tackled the left front headlight.

It was extremely fogged. See?

We used this kit to buff it out. First we wet sanded for almost an hour then we applied the wipe clean cloth. I am not sure what the wipe clean cloth is, but overall the sanding and wipe clean cloth seemed to help a lot.

Don't forget to use painters tape around the edges of your headlight. It will save your ass when you accidentally go off the headlight with the sandpaper. I almost didn't bother with it, but after I had been sanding a bit, I was really glad I had.

Here is the end result. Well worth the $12 and the hour of effort. Cambodian Tire charges you like $65 for the same service. What a rip off. I'm down to like 94 problems left on my Cavalier now. Got to fix my broken right headlight bracket, and do some painting yet. We'll get there. Little by little one travels far.

Well now that we've replaced the front struts, replaced the rear struts, got an alignment and passed an emissions test, we are down to about 95 problems.

I learned about the tape the hard way. Apparently, there is a sealer you can use to make the restoration last longer. It'll probably start to fog up again in a year or so.

Well, if it does, I'll just do it again. It was *really* bad at this point. I almost dispensed with the painters tape, thinking "I'll just be careful". Good thing I saw it nearby and was like "don't be an idiot, do it properly..." lol.
